BAMkids Making Animated Movies

This is a post by JBFC Faculty Member Darrel Swann

This past Saturday, the JBFC was invited to Brooklyn to participate in BAM’s BAMkids Film Festival 2015. The JBFC had five animation stations set up for kids of all ages and visitors as young as 4 years old got a taste of paper animation, live-action stop motion, and claymation. This was the first JBFC + BAM collaboration and what a wonderful experience it was! The workshop was a great way to bring a bit of what we do down to Brooklyn. JBFC Teaching Assistant & former Emerging Artist Fellow, Jon Appel and I had an awesome time teaching kids about the magic of animation. We look forward to many more collaborations in the future.
