Art House Theater Day: Thank You!
By JBFC Marketing Volunteer Dotty Battel
Thank you to all of you who participated in Art House Theater Day on Saturday, Sept. 24 and made it such a huge success. This unique event was created as a way for over 200 independent movie houses to celebrate the cultural roles they play in their communities. Needless to say, here at the Burns we consider ourselves incredibly lucky for our vibrant and supportive community.
We dedicated part of the day to introduce JBFC Kids, an exciting new program designed to further our mission of film-for-all. It was a joy to see so many families with young children having fun creating stop-motion animations and time-lapse floor drawings, and watching two animated short programs. And for the more mature audiences, we had a photo booth, costume contest, beer (courtesy of Captain Lawrence), and a full house for an evening screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which celebrated its 35th anniversary this year.
It was an awesome day! Check out these photo and video highlights below!
