25th Anniversary Celebration

To celebrate our landmark year, we will hold our 25th Anniversary Gala on Friday, June 12. We are especially pleased that Carrie Coon will receive the Vision Award, Stephen Apkon will receive the Legacy Award and Judy Exton will receive the David Swope Leadership Award. All proceeds from this special evening will benefit the Jacob Burns Film Center’s film and education programs.

Steve Apkon’s vision and creative leadership have helped the Burns become one of the nation’s most respected centers for film and education. As the Founder of the Jacob Burns Film Center, Steve built a vibrant community drawn to diverse storytelling and the discovery of new perspectives, ideas, and cultures. His belief in the power of film to deepen understanding, foster empathy, inspire creativity, and connect people continues to touch all who pass through our doors.

After 25 years of extraordinary service as the Director of Development, Judy Exton will be retiring soon, leaving behind a lasting impact of dedication, integrity, and heartfelt connection. Through her tireless efforts, Judy not only helped secure the resources that sustained and expanded the Burns’ vision, but also nurtured the relationships and sense of shared purpose that define our community.

We are thrilled and inspired by the incredible response to our 25th Anniversary Gala. To welcome even more members of our community and meet the overwhelming demand for tickets to this meaningful event, additional seating for the gala program will now be available in an adjoining theater.
