Andrzej Wajda Centennial

Oct. 9–15, 2026

To honor the centennial of the great Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda, the Jacob Burns Film Center is pleased to present a weeklong series of eight of Wajda’s finest films, a number of which have been newly restored following years of their being unavailable to see in theaters. A cinematic trailblazer whose most enthusiastic admirers include Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, the latter of whom lauded Wajda as having “inspired audiences around the world, giving them an artist’s view of history, democracy and freedom,” Andrzej Wajda is a true master filmmaker whose work is begging for discovery, or rediscovery, on the big screen.

Presented in Collaboration with Di Factory, The Polish Film Institute, and WFDiF.
