The Miseducation of Cameron Post

7:00pm screening followed by LGBTQ+ Community Panel—Free for Members

Based on the celebrated novel by Emily M. Danforth, The Miseducation of Cameron Post follows Cameron (Chloë Grace Moretz) as she is sent to a gay conversion therapy center after getting caught with another girl in the back seat of a car on prom night. In the face of intolerance and denial, Cameron meets a group of fellow ‘sinners’ including the amputee stoner Jane (Sasha Lane), and her friend, the Lakota Two-Spirit, Adam (Forrest Goodluck). Together, this group of teenagers form an unlikely family as they fight to survive.

The 7:00 screening will be followed by a panel discussion on LGBTQ+ rights in 2025 with The LOFT LGBTQ+ Center and other special guests. Both screenings are free for JBFC members.

"Satire and outrage are easier approaches than the tact and empathy Ms. Akhavan deploys. The Miseducation of Cameron Post, confident in its beliefs and curious about what makes its characters tick, is more interested in listening than in preaching."
A. O. Scott, The New York Times

This film is part of the Pride: A Celebration of Queer Stories 2025 series.
