Acclaimed choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot entertains with his vision of Shakespeare’s battle of the sexes. Set to Dmitri Shostakovich’s colorful music, the tale of an ill-tempered young woman who meets her match is a battle of wits between stormy individualist Katharina (Ekaterina Krysanova) and smug Petruchio (Vladislav Lantratov). Maillot brings out the fast-paced athleticism of the Bolshoi Ballet dancers as the two leads clash and eventually fall for one another.
