The Big Sick

Revered comedian Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) stars in this hilarious and moving romantic comedy about a culture-clashing courtship that challenges his family’s 1,400-year-old traditions. Based on the real-life romance of Nanjiani and his wife and cowriter, Emily Gordon (played by Zoe Kazan, Meek’s Cutoff), it’s got love, heartache, insight—and a mysterious illness that upends everything. This crowd-pleaser is being hailed as a major breakthrough for director Michael Showalter (Hello, My Name Is Doris; Wet Hot American Summer), and Nanjiani alike. The stellar cast includes strong supporting turns for Holly Hunter, Ray Romano, Anupam Kher, Bo Burnham, and Aidy Bryant.

Tickets: $8 (members), $13 (nonmembers)
