Tangerine

10th Anniversary

Special 10th anniversary screening of this groundbreaking film, written and directed by Sean Baker (Winner of Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Film Editing, and Best Picture for Anora at the 2025 Academy Awards).

It’s Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee (Kitana Kiki Rodriguez) is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend (James Ransone, Starlet, Generation Kill) hasn’t been faithful during the 28 days she was locked up, the sex worker and her best friend, Alexandra (newcomer Mya Taylor), embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumor. Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles.

"In the early minutes you might not be sure what you're watching. Tangerine's a comedy, of course, laced with rambunctious, exuberantly ragged dialogue. But by the end, Baker and his actors have led us to a place beyond comedy—you may still be laughing, but your breath catches a little on the way out."
Stephanie Zacharek, Village Voice

This film is part of the Pride: A Celebration of Queer Stories 2025 series.
