Renowned for its beautiful animation and stunning hand-painted backgrounds, Disney’s seminal 1959 fairy-tale classic Sleeping Beauty tells the story of Princess Aurora and the evil curse placed on her by vengeful fairy Maleficent; a curse that can be broken only by the kiss of her true love.
The Sept. 28 screening will feature a pre-recorded introduction from legendary Disney animator Floyd Norman, who worked on Sleeping Beauty as his first major animation project. He is the subject of the documentary Floyd Norman: An Animated Life, which will play on September 30 followed by a Q&A with Norman and the film’s co-directors.
