Pace Student Documentary Screening: Puerto Rico: Hope in the Dark

Pre-reception in the Jane Peck Gallery!

In the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria, the most powerful storm to strike Puerto Rico in more than 80 years, nearly three and a half million U.S. citizens were plunged into darkness. Six months later, the pace of recovery is slow, but Puerto Ricans are mending their lives back together. PaceDocs filmmakers spent five days on the island, where they gathered more than 50 interviews with people who survived the storm, asking “what happens to people when infrastructure is completely destroyed? How can we rebuild?” Puerto Rico: Hope in the Dark is a moving portrait of the strength, spirit and resiliency of the Puerto Rican people.
