Monsoon (2014)

This rich cinematic journey, filmed in ultra-high definition 4K, is part spectacle and part human drama. A thrilling documentary exploration of the vast seasonal weather system that shapes the existence of India’s billion-plus inhabitants, it’s a story of chaos, creation, and faith. Award-winning director Sturla Gunnarsson and his crew recorded the 2013 monsoon on its journey from the southern state of Kerala, where it first made landfall, to India’s northeastern state of Meghalaya, the “Place of the Clouds.”

This film is part of the Focus on Nature 2016 series.
