Charlton Heston stars as the titular Major Dundee, a former Union cavalry officer now charged with overseeing a prisoner-of-war camp in New Mexico. When the camp is attacked by a group of Apaches and three children are kidnapped, the Major is forced to team up with his prisoners in order to stage a dangerous rescue mission.
