Opens April 10—all screenings followed by pre-recorded Q&A with filmmaker Radu Jude, moderated by filmmaker Richard Linklater

This furious and hysterical moral parable from award-winning filmmaker Radu Jude’s (Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World) follows Orsolya, a bailiff in Romania, whose life is turned upside down after she oversees the eviction of a local elderly man in Transylvania.

The act’s unexpected consequences come to shatter her and her understanding of her place in society. Spiraling into an existential crisis, Orsolya traverses the city, meeting with various people in her life—her husband, an old friend, her former student, a priest—to consider and reconcile her place in an increasingly maddening modern world.

"A movie about the way we live now, the way we cope now, and, perhaps most of all, the way we rationalize now."
Justin Chang, The New Yorker
"Featuring a terrific central performance by Eszter Tompa, both comic and affecting, the film will more than satisfy Jude fans but also bring reassurance to anyone who was worrying that European art cinema had lost its combative spirit."
Jonathan Romney, Screen International
