“Captures the essence of a mesmerizing performer.” (Hollywood Reporter)
Rocío Molina is electrifying on stage, alternately possessed by unearthly forces and pacifying them with rhythmic precision and a mighty will. She has taken her largely improvised “impulsos” to venues around the world, boldly addressing themes of womanhood, sexuality, and power through traditional flamenco made new with infusions of hip-hop, modern dance, and even kabuki. Now Molina and her high-spirited musicians prepare for one of the most challenging impulsos of her career, at the Chaillot National Theater in Paris: the “Caída del Cielo,” or “Fall from Heaven,” a descent into what she calls “a colorful darkness in constant movement.”
