If I Had Legs I'd Kick You

Q&A with filmmaker Mary Bronstein

Directed by Mary Bronstein (her first film in 17 years, following mumblecore classic Yeast) and featuring a towering performance from Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids), If I Had Legs I’d Kick You stands as one of the finest films of 2025.

With her life crashing down around her, Linda (Byrne) attempts to navigate her child’s mysterious illness, her absent husband, a missing person, and an increasingly hostile relationship with her therapist (impeccably played by Conan O’Brien).

"An exercise in riveting restraint and painful poetry, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You is an emotional knockout."
Chase Hutchinson, The Wrap
"Bronstein crafts a thriller of teeth-grinding magnificence centred on Byrne as the indefatigable figure at the centre of this whirlwind of unsolicited advice."
Stephen A. Russell, Time Out
