“More grounded in simple observation than in fanciful theories, this effortlessly engaging story of sudden tragedy and halting recovery wisely focuses on the facts and leaves the wonder to the audience.” (Jeannette Catsoulis, NY Times)
Dolphin Boy tells the remarkable story of Morad, a young Arab-Israeli who dissociates himself from reality due to a severe trauma, and will not speak or communicate. As a last resort, his father takes Morad for an alternative treatment with dolphins in Israel’s southern city Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea. There, he is gradually brought back to life with the help of the ocean, the dolphins, and the unconditional love of his father. This beautifully told story is stunning to watch, and has been an audience favorite at numerous international film festivals including the Jerusalem International Film Festival, Hot Docs, and our own Westchester Jewish Film Festival.
