Wow, a knock-out, terrifying horror film that just happens to be a documentary about the over-militarization of local police that’s mushroomed in the last generation all over the US. We originally played this in our Global Watch series. It’s an incredible doc achievement because the filmmaker—who is the son of a policeman—manages to capture intimate moments on both sides of the barricades, and the resulting portrait is one of the most compelling calls to action I’ve ever seen. Suddenly stories like Ferguson take on a completely different hue as you see the nature of the regular policing those areas are subjected to, day in, day out.
