Trump promised to go after the “worst of the worst” with his intensifying policies. But who is really paying the price? In Texas, the state with the highest rate of arrests, Louise Van Assche meets those affected by the attacks causing nationwide uproar, and only escalating in frequency.

The screening will be presented with a special pre-recorded introduction from the director Louise Van Assche and followed by a community discussion on immigration with Neighbors Link.

  • Jeanette Gisbert joined Neighbors Link as Deputy Director in December 2024. She oversees Neighbors Link’s organizational strategy, program development, and fundraising to support the organization’s mission and long-term goals. Jeanette recently served as the Executive Director of Volunteer New York! She joined Volunteer New York! in 2008, where she began as a program coordinator. Eventually, she served as their Deputy Executive Director before becoming the Executive Director in July 2020. Previously, Jeanette was New York Cares’ first Director of Volunteer Relations, responsible for the recruitment and management of thousands of volunteers and hundreds of volunteer leaders. Jeanette started her career as an Americorps VISTA member. She holds a BS in Management from Boston College and her Masters in Public Administration from CUNY Baruch. Jeanette is bilingual and a first-generation Cuban-American. She lives in Cortlandt Manor with her husband and son.
  • Constanza Bentancor is currently a Dept. of Justice fully accredited representative and senior bilingual paralegal at Neighbors Link Community Law Practice. She studied Sociology, with a concentration in Community and Environment, and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Science at SUNY Oneonta. Constanza is a first generation American daughter of Uruguayan immigrants and is a dedicated employee who is an experienced immigration paralegal and has genuine interest in contributing to social programs that address issues surrounding immigration. Her goal is to help empower others, improve opportunities for the disadvantaged and generate support for underserved populations.
