Join us for a powerful and inspiring evening in honor of Mother Earth Day, hosted by the Jacob Burns Film Center in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-led Equator Initiative. This special event brings together environmental changemakers, thought leaders, and artists for a night of thought-provoking short film screenings, an engaging panel discussion, an electrifying live music performance, and a cocktail reception.
The UNDP Equator Initiative recognizes Indigenous Peoples and local communities around the world for their nature-positive solutions that benefit both people and the planet. Through a series of short films, we’ll explore the work of these extraordinary organizations—showcasing how community-driven, nature-based solutions are creating sustainable local economies, building resilience, and addressing global challenges in the face of economic, environmental, political, and public health crises.
Following the film screenings, join Anna Giulia Medri, Head of the Equator Initiative, in an inspiring conversation that will shed light on the innovative ways communities worldwide are protecting ecosystems, preserving cultural heritage, and leading sustainable solutions from the ground up.
The evening will conclude with an electrifying live performance by AY Young, producer, singer, songwriter, UN Youth Ambassador, and sustainability advocate. As the visionary behind Battery Tour and Project 17, AY Young blends music and activism, using renewable energy-powered performances to inspire global action.
A cocktail reception will immediately follow the event in the Jane Peck Gallery.
