Tony Webster (Jim Broadbent, The Lady in the Van, The Iron Lady) leads a reclusive life as a small business owner. His quiet existence is interrupted by the receipt of a letter from a late classmate. The letter forces Tony to face difficult truths about his past, including a tumultuous relationship with first love, Veronica (Charlotte Rampling, 45 years), and the devastating consequences of a decision made a lifetime ago. Ritesh Batra’s (The Lunchbox) newest film, “offers a poignant commentary on how each of us attempts to make meaning of our lives, distorting memories […] to suit agendas we can’t entirely rationalize.” (Variety)
