“Connery and Hepburn seem to have arrived at a tacit understanding between themselves about their characters. They glow. They really do seem in love. And they project as marvelously complex, fond, tender people.” (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times)
Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn grace the screen together as Robin Hood and Maid Marian. The two reunite after a decades-long separation during which Robin Hood was overseas. When he returns, he finds that Maid Marian has become Mother Superior of a local convent. As the two begin to rekindle their relationship, Marian’s freedom is threatened by a familiar enemy, the Sheriff of Nottingham (Robert Shaw). Robin decides to put an end to their long-standing rivalry once and for all.
