Patricia Dombrowski, aka Patti Cake$, is a white girl from New Jersey who seeks fame and fortune as a rapper. Her unlikely quest for glory is brilliantly portrayed by an unlikely actor—the dazzlingly gifted Australian Danielle Macdonald, whose raw energy and skill make it very hard to believe that she had absolutely no rapping experience before being cast in this role.
