Sergio Leone’s Once Upon A Time in the West is of course justly held by many aficionados as the “ultimate” western. A narrative as rich and florid as an opera, sporting a stunning cast of phenomenally great actors, and presented with the highest of styles by Leone, who only few dare to imitate and none suck in capturing his heart-felt grandeur. And the epic Ennio Morricone score? Words fail me—except to say that this is music you feel as joyfully as you hear it. What we have here is a super-rare chance to see his gloriously sprawling yarn on the big, beautiful JBFC movie screen, as it deserves to be seen but rarely is anymore. –Jonathan Demme
