John Pizzarelli to Celebrate Nat King Cole

Live Performance by the John Pizzarelli Trio!

Singer, guitarist, and frequent JBFC guest John Pizzarelli returns to the Theater One stage to honor the 100th birthday of his performing idol, the late Nat King Cole. The evening will include both commentary and rare film footage that spans Cole’s brilliant career, followed by a live concert featuring The John Pizzarelli Trio, who will perform selections from John’s most recent album (recorded at the JBFC Media Arts Lab) on Ghostlight Records–For Centennial Reasons: 100-Year Salute to Nat King Cole.

John Pizzarelli has been hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” The Toronto Star pegged him as “the genial genius of the guitar,” and the Seattle Times saluted him as “a rare entertainer of the old school.” He has recorded over 20 solo albums and has appeared on more than 40 albums by other recording artists, including Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Rosemary Clooney, and his father, jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli.
