The latest film from Oscar-winner (and JBFC champion) Ron Howard is a steamy historical thriller set in the remote Galapagos Islands. It’s the shocking true story of a group of Europeans who, freshly disillusioned by technology’s inhumanity and Jazz Age decadence, seek paradise off the coast of Ecuador—only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but one other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds among a manifesto-writing doctor and his steely wife (Jude Law and Vanessa Kirby), humble and resourceful newlyweds (Sydney Sweeney and Daniel Brühl), and a flamboyant baroness (Ana de Armas) and her slavish suitors. It all leads to a shocking sequence of events performed with gusto by a game cast and stands as one of the most visceral and bravura films in Howard’s storied career.

"No film about the utter demise of a supposed utopia—a real one, to boot!—and the utter infallibility of human beings should be this fun, but we’re lucky this one is."
"All told, Eden is deeply engrossing throughout and is a compelling look at nasty, vicious characters cracking under trying conditions. The fact that all of this really happened makes this bizarre tale that much more intriguing."
