“This is perhaps the only science-fiction film that can be called transcendental.” (Entertainment Weekly)
Harrison Ford stars as Rick Deckard, a retired cop in Los Angeles circa 2019. The world has become a pan-cultural dystopia filled with corporate advertising, mass pollution, flying automobiles, and replicants: human-like androids with short life spans, built by the dastardly Tyrell Corporation for use on dangerous, off-world colonization projects. After a quartet of replicants led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) escapes and heads to Earth, Deckard is brought out of retirement for one last assignment: Kill them all. A box office failure upon its initial 1982 release, Blade Runner has gone on to become a beloved science fiction epic, and even spawned Blade Runner 2049 over three decades later—a masterful sequel that bombed just as hard as its predecessor.
Please Note: We are screening the definitive version of Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking vision, complete with additional footage and upgraded special effects.
