Bad Shabbos

Kyra Sedgwick and Cliff “Method Man” Smith lead an incredible ensemble cast in the uproarious new comedy Bad Shabbos, winner of the Audience Award for Best Narrative at the Tribeca Film Festival!

David (Jon Bass) and his fiancée Meg (Meghan Leathers) are about to have their parents meet for the first time over a Shabbat dinner on New York’s Upper West Side when an accidental death (or murder?) gets in the way. With Meg’s Catholic parents due any moment, this family dinner soon spirals into a hilarious disaster.

"A strong ensemble cast nails the tasty dialogue and increasingly frantic action without falling into shtick."
Alissa Simon, Variety
"The real big star here is actually Method Man's Jordan. Though he may be best known for his long career as a beloved music star, Method Man gives an excellent comedic performance here, with the timing and charm of a comedy pro being on display at all times."
Aidan Kelley, Collider

  • Daniel Robbins is an NYC-based director who hopes to never move West. In his films, he takes exciting concepts and grounds them with authentic performances, surprising humor, and propulsive energy. His breakout film Pledge was a hit at Fantasia Film Festival and sold to IFC Midnight as well as a streaming deal with Hulu. He also won “Best Director” at Screamfest. Variety calls it a “lean and mean shocker,” the New York Times proclaims “...the director is willing to move beyond the tease of his setup to deliver a ringing indictment of popularity as the cheese in a deadly mousetrap,” and The Daily Beast calls it “a fleet, ferocious, and razor-sharp affair.” His most recent features are Citizen Wiener, which premiered at Slamdance and was boarded by Abso Lutely and Village Roadshow; and Bad Shabbos, which stars an incredible cast and premiered at Tribeca last June.
  • John Bedford Lloyd is best known for playing Frank Cosgrove on the Netflix series OZARK. His film work includes the soon to be released Plainclothes, The Bourne Supremacy, The Front Runner, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, The Abyss, The Manchurian Candidate, The Hoax, Nixon, Philadelphia, Crossing Delancey, Trading Places, Tough Guys Don’t Dance, and Super Troopers. As well as the HBO productions John Adams and Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight. He has appeared on Broadway in Some Americans Abroad and The Rainmaker. Since 2006 Mr. Lloyd has worked with Rehabilitation Through The Arts (RTA) directing plays and developing new work with the residents of Green Haven Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison in New York.
