Spend an afternoon with Disney and enjoy a special preview of the new Disney+ Original docuseries Choir and their award-winning documentary short film Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó.

Choir. 2024. 60 m. dir. Various. DisneyUSEnglish. Rated NR.

Choir is a 6-part documentary series following the kids of the Detroit Youth Choir as they prepare for the performance of a lifetime. Through their eyes, we experience the highs and lows of life growing up in Detroit, navigating the challenges of balancing family, school, and athletics, all while pursuing their dreams of taking their talents to the next level and performing on one of the world’s biggest stages. Following their 2019 appearance on America’s Got Talent, it’s a pivotal time for the choir and its director, Anthony White, as he’s faced with the combined challenges of replacing several key members, keeping the choir relevant in Detroit, and finding the next big opportunity that will put them back in the national spotlight.

The Original docuseries from Disney Branded Television, Imagine Documentaries, and Blumhouse Entertainment will premiere with all six episodes on January 31 on Disney+.

Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó. 2024. 17 m. dir. Sean Wang. Disney. US. English / Mandarin with subtitles. Rated NR.

Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó is a documentary short film that is a personal love letter from first generation Taiwanese-American director Sean Wang to his grandmas, Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó. This feel-good multigenerational story follows a grandma super team that dances, stretches and farts their sorrows away, highlighting the importance of connecting with your elders and making them feel seen.

From Disney Branded Television, the film will debut on Disney+ in February 2024 as the first installment of the “People & Places” relaunch, Walt Disney’s Academy Award-winning documentary short film series from the 1950s and 1960s.
