Member Town Hall
Recorded on December 14
We were excited to welcome JBFC members to a virtual Town Hall where we shared our plans for 2021 and answered questions from our community.
Speakers: Interim Executive Director Margo Amgott. Margo will be joined by Founding Director of Film Programming Brian Ackerman, Senior Film Programmer Andrew Jupin, Director of Programs, Media Arts Lab Sean Weiner, General Manager Kendra Ekelund, and Membership Director Elizabeth Garrigue.
2020 has been quite the year! Thank you for staying with us through it all.
JBFC at Home
We continue to find ways to connect you with film and the Burns through this period of stay-at-home distancing. We hope that you’ve seen recent e-bulletins with fun and entertaining links. For a roundup of all we’ve suggested and put together for you already, visit JBFC at Home on our website.
Virtual Screening Room
As we at the JBFC look for new ways to bring cinema to you, we’re thrilled to work with film distributors to keep new releases coming. In the JBFC Virtual Marquee you’ll find films curated by our programmers that you can watch at home. Like many cinematic engagements, films will be available for screening purchases for one week to start; if demand is sufficient, the title will be “held over” for additional weeks.
Free Trial Membership to MUBI
We are offering JBFC members a FREE 3-month TRIAL membership to MUBI, the film streaming service. They curate a selection of 30 films each month—a new one each day—which you can stream for free! MUBI is supporting local art house theaters like ours while we all stay home to help flatten the curve. You will need to set up your own account on MUBI’s website.
Earlier this year, the JBFC was honored to be featured in an episode of the Criterion Channel’s Art House America webseries, accompanied by a lineup of films curated by JBFC Founding Director of Programming Brian Ackerman and JBFC Senior Programmer Andrew Jupin. A movie lover’s dream, the Criterion Channel offers classics and discoveries from around the world, thematically programmed with special features, on a streaming service brought to you by the Criterion Collection. New subscribers who sign up for the Criterion Channel receive a two-week free trial.
Membership and Support
Please keep your membership current! Your support means so much to us as we work remotely to plan programming you can enjoy now at home and at the theater once we re-open. Your support keeps the JBFC healthy. Your membership entitles you to the member discount on virtual screenings and series passes, and other special members-only offers
If you would like us to give you a call to help with renewal or answer any other questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your phone number. We’re happy to connect by phone.
We wish you and your family health and safety at this very difficult time. We can’t wait to see you again at the theater in the near future!
