Image, Sound, and Story Student Screenings
Certified Image, Sound, and Story Educators can bring their class to the JBFC campus to see a feature film from our curated Education Film Library (click on this link to see the list of films, read film details, and view trailers). Screenings are followed by a facilitated discussion with JBFC education staff that focuses on making connections between the Image, Sound, and Story material being used in the classroom with a feature film.
Screenings of feature films and shorts, followed by discussions with JBFC education staff offer an interdisciplinary experience where students encounter film as an art form while exploring its connections to social, economic, and cultural forces.
- Screenings and workshops take place 10am – 12pm, Tuesday – Friday at the JBFC Theater or Media Arts Lab
- Screenings are limited to 135 students Tuesday-Thursday and 55 students on Friday, including teachers and chaperones; Workshops are limited to 60 students.
- Fees are as follows: $10/student (feature films); $15/student (workshops); $250 minimum. There is no charge for teachers and chaperones. Schools where 35% or more of their student population receive Free or Reduced lunch can receive subsidy.

Schools are expected to provide one adult (teacher, parent, or other chaperone) for every 15 students. We suggest bringing one adult for every nine students with special needs. There is no lunch room available at the JBFC’s Media Arts Lab or Theater.
Schools are responsible for making their own arrangements for transportation to and from the JBFC campus. Schools qualifying for financial assistance may have the bus company or transportation department invoice sent to the JBFC directly. The JBFC will make payment as directed on the invoice.
