Classroom to Screening Room

Classroom to Screening Room presents film screenings and discussions that enrich students’ study of literature, social studies, science, world languages, and the visual and performing arts. Monthly screenings of feature films followed by discussions with filmmakers and other special guests, offer an interdisciplinary experience where students encounter film as an art form while exploring its connections to social, economic, and cultural forces. These events give students the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience and thoughtfully engage with new releases and curated titles.

These events are open to all teachers and students with priority access to teachers given to Certified Image, Sound, and Story Educators and School Partners.

Schools are expected to provide one adult (teacher, parent, or other chaperone) for every 15 students. We suggest bringing one adult for every nine students with special needs. There is no lunch room available at the JBFC’s Media Arts Lab or Theater.
Schools are responsible for making their own arrangements for transportation to and from the JBFC campus. Schools qualifying for financial assistance may have the bus company or transportation department invoice sent to the JBFC directly. The JBFC will make payment as directed on the invoice.
