Tap dancers of all ages and nationalities turned the cameras on themselves in celebration of an original American art form that only grows richer in translation. Whether it’s practiced by South African miners stamping their feet to the gumboot roots of the dance, an Indian master who incorporates tap into traditional kathak, or performers like Chloe Arnold and Jason Samuels Smith who carry on the tradition here in the US, tap proves its enduring appeal.
