Becky (Elisabeth Moss, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale) is a flagrantly self-destructive former ’90s superstar who once filled arenas with her punk band. Now she plays smaller venues while grappling—with mixed success—with her new reality. After things reach the boiling point, she’s forced to get sober, address her demons, and attempt to recapture the creative inspiration that led to her success in the first place. It’s almost as hard to watch Moss’s intensely unhinged Becky as it is to look away. Writer/director Alex Ross Perry (Queen of Earth) has created an electrifying and deeply unsettling film.
