A community of monks lives isolated from the world, practicing martial arts and following the master’s strict rules. This poetic, observational documentary investigates their harsh lives and the flow of time in their closed environment to try and understand the beliefs of these modern warriors of faith. In the final film she made before her untimely death, director Valentina Pedicini creates a viewing experience that is both challenging and mesmerizing.

Cath Clarke, Guardian
"As disciplined and intriguingly opaque as the men and women it studies, attempting to unlock the nature of the group through mesmeric observation of routine and ritual"
