City of Ghosts

“…a moving record of extraordinary individual and collective heroism, one that eventually emphasizes the personal over the political” (New York Times)

“…a profound study in bravery…” (New York Post)

City of Ghosts follows the citizen journalist collective Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), a group of anonymous activists brought together after their city was taken over by ISIS in 2014. Together they work to expose the human rights violations committed by ISIS and fight against the terrorist group’s misinformation campaigns in their home country. Directed, produced, and filmed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land), City of Ghosts is the astonishing and deeply personal story of a group of brave citizens risking their lives to stand up against one of the greatest evils in the world.
