The Jacob Burns Film Center is a nonprofit cultural and educational institution located in Pleasantville, NY, dedicated to presenting the best of independent narrative, documentary, and world cinema, promoting visual literacy, and making film a vibrant part of the community.  We are seeking a Ticketing and Data Specialist to join our team.


Position Objectives: Reporting to the Manager of Systems and Administration, the Ticketing and Data Specialist will serve as the primary source for the set up and configuration of all ticketed items (screenings, courses, and merchandise) as well as the data reporting for these items in our ticketing system, the Tessitura platform.  This team member provides primary and critical support to the Manager of Systems and Administration in the configuration of sellable assets, the analysis of sales, and identifying and implementing ticketing efficiencies.  Through their work, the Ticketing and Data Specialist advances our goals of refining and enhancing the external constituent experience for purchases.  This is achieved by supporting departments that handle sales and the analysis of them, as well as internal employee usage including adaptation, implementation, and productive use of our ticketing software.




  • Managing the build of all performances, classes, or other sellable items in Tessitura and TNEW.
  • Entry of weekly programming schedule performances every Tuesday.
  • Consult with related departments on optimal configurations in Tessitura and TNEW for new sellable products.
  • Assessing and refining ticketing configuration according to organizational needs.
  • Responsible for general season set-up and season maintenance, including ongoing updates to performances, classes, and other programming and TNEW purchase paths.
  • Assist with managing and keeping data points clean across performance building and pricing areas within the Tessitura application for efficient operational and information management.
  • Cross-referencing with Artifax event-scheduling software for accurate builds.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting TNEW and Tessitura issues with regard to ticketing.


Data Reporting:

  • Responsible for generating ticketing, sales, and data reports using standard Tessitura reports and Tessitura Analytics dashboarding.
  • Design comprehensive Analytics dashboards for sales, series, and ticketing comparisons.
  • Communicate with departments for specific dashboard needs and sharing.



  • Assist with monitoring entry and expiration of departmental holds, including utility run schedule.
  • Assist with creation and upkeep of procedural documentation with regard to ticketing and Analytic dashboards.
  • Assist with software version upgrades and testing with regard to ticketing and orders.
  • Assist with training for new procedural steps with regard to ticketing and Analytics.
  • Assist with processing orders for school programs, as needed.
  • Assist with projects set by Manager of Systems and Administration, as needed.


Required Qualifications:

  • Strong sense of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • 2 years of experience working with the Tessitura platform, particularly on performance set-up and Analytics reporting.
  • Experience with Tessitura pricing set-up and configuration.
  • Experience working in a film or performing arts center.
  • Ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Proficiency using Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
  • Basic PC Hardware knowledge.
  • HTML knowledge a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.


Part Time Hourly Rate:  $25-$35 per hour, approximately 20 hours per week, working remotely possible
